Charles Lenox Marshall, of Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by his family. Charles was born and raised in Newtown, Pennsylvania, attended the George School, and went on to Wilmington College. His appreciation for agriculture and the outdoors was fostered at a young age on his family's farm, and continued after graduation, as he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for his entire 40-year career. He loved tending his gardens, appreciating the wildlife that visited the farm, searching out antiques and following all things relating to Penn State athletics. Serving his community and leaving the world a little bit of a better place were also important to Charles. He spent much of his retirement as an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Juniata County and also the Juniata County Historical Society. He was grateful for all who touched his life, and the many blessings he received. Charles is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Rebecca (Orr), who treasures their 54 years of marriage together. He is also survived by his son, Doug, and his wife, Sue; and his two grandsons, Colin and Connor, in whom he took great pride. He was predeceased by his son, Brian, whom he greatly missed, as well as his parents, Harry and Marjorie Marshall. Charles is also survived by his brother, Don, and his wife, Linda; his daughter-in-law, Shannan (Brian's wife and mother of Colin and Connor); as well as many other beloved family members and friends. He also left behind five of his favorite felines, whom he lovingly named and cared for, and who stayed by his side through his final moments. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 Juniata Street, Mifflin, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 am. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to please support the Juniata County Historical Society, at 498 Jefferson Street, Suite B, Mifflintown, PA, 17059, or at https://juniatacountyhistoricalsociety.org/donate, and help them continue Charles's work of honoring the past and keeping history alive for future generations. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Online condolences and tributes can be shared with the family at www.brownfuneralhomesinc.com.
