Charles McCourry, age 85, was a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as a generous uncle and friend, who will be missed as he entered his Heavenly home on November 27, 2024.
He graduated from Lincoln High School and worked most of his life as a salesman for O'Neill's, Vanity Fair and Cutler Realty. Charles was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Canton where he was active in raising money for the church through Bingo. He also supported the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps by serving on the board and volunteering wherever he was needed, including driving a tour bus for many summers.
Charles was known for his unwavering love and support of his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Granchi) McCourry, and his mother and father, Cora and Frank McCourry. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Lake (David) and his children, Christopher McCourry (Maurine), Laura Rossiello (Michael), and Constance Hernandez (Raul). Charles, known as Papa, was immensely proud of his six grandchildren, Alexia (Jose), Nicolas, Luke, Erica, Stella and Dominic.
A celebration of his life will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 2427 Tuscarawas St. W., Canton, on Thursday, at 11:00 am. The family will be receiving guests from 10:00-10:45 am.
