Charles Eugene "Chuck" Medcoff December 21, 1963 – November 14, 2025
Charles Eugene Medcoff-known lovingly by all as "Chuck"-passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at Corewell Hospital in Troy, Michigan, with his devoted wife by his side. He was 61 years old.
Born on December 21, 1963, in Deckerville, Michigan, to Donald and Betty Medcoff, Chuck was raised on a dairy farm-an upbringing that instilled a strong work ethic and grounded humility. A proud graduate of Deckerville High School, Class of 1982, Chuck went on to earn his bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Michigan Tech University and Wayne State University.
It was at Wayne State where Chuck met the love of his life, Yasmin. The two were married on August 18, 1990, in Bay Village, Ohio, and shared 34 beautiful years together. Their marriage was marked by laughter, shared passions, and a love for good food, good music, and great company. Whether trying new recipes, heading out for a dinner date, or settling in for a movie night with their children, Chuck and Yasmin found joy in the simple moments spent together.
Chuck had a deep love for music-particularly rock 'n' roll. Though he traded the cows for guitars, the country boy in him never faded. He played guitar in his band No Deal, jamming with lifelong friends and passing on his love of music to his son, Jason. Some of Chuck's most cherished moments were spent playing guitar at home with his son, or sharing horror movie marathons and artistic laughs with his daughter, Katarina. Walking her down the aisle this October was a moment of immense pride and joy for Chuck and the entire family.
An incredibly skilled computer engineer and generous tutor, Chuck could often be found helping others understand complex technical concepts-or riding his lawn mower through the yard, always with a smile. He found happiness in bookstores, music shops, and the rhythm of daily life. Chuck's quiet wisdom, dry wit, and ability to bring calm to every storm will be deeply missed.
Chuck is survived by: 1. His loving wife Yasmin Medcoff 2. His children, Jason (Kristina Sangrey) Medcoff and Katarina (Hayes) Medcoff-Wylie 3. His siblings: Barbara Falstad, Carolyn Medcoff, and Diane Lentner 4. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Medcoff, and his brother, Thomas.
Celebration of Life: A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Downing Cemetery in Deckerville, Michigan.
Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Chuck's name may be made to Operation Smile-a charity dear to his heart.
Chuck's memory will live on in the music he played, the lives he touched, and the deep love he gave his family and friends. May his spirit continue to inspire those who knew him, and may his gentle soul rest in peace.
