Charles Junior "Gladys" Muncey

Charles Junior Muncey – age 71 of Maynardville, went to live forever in the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1954 to Pearlie Lee Tharpe Muncey and Charles Edward (Edd) Muncey. Charles passed away suddenly while working at Tru (Clayton) Homes, where he had been employed for forty-two years. He was a member of New Start Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, special grandmother, Annie (Polly) Muncey; as well as several aunts and uncles. Charles is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Teresa Lowery Muncey; sons, Joe Muncey, Tony Muncey, David Thorpe (Corey), Derrick Thorpe; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Loretta) Muncey; mother and father-in-law, Ann and Albert Saylor; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Ronnie Gibson, Jenny and Lynn Collins, Lisa and Steve Jones and Brenda and Scott Robertson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and special longtime friends.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Wade Brantley officiating with music provided by Richard and Linda Nicley. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Trinity to proceed to Big Barren Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Serving as pallbearers, Lynn Muncey, Hunter Gray, Landon Gray, Gary Clevenger, Ronnie Gibson and Scott Robertson; honorary pallbearer, Brian Holt.
