Charles Edwin Myers



Charles Edwin Myers, age 80, of Culpeper, Va. died Wednes-day, August 27, 2008 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilit-ation Center. He was born May 7, 1928 in Culpeper to the late Earl C. and Fannie Mae Myers.

Mr. Myers served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a very active member of Culpeper United Methodist Church where he was Head Usher for many years, served on the administration board and was a steward of the church. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and swimming.

He is survived by two children, Gwen M. Will and her husband, Stephen, Teresa M. Jorgensen and her husband, Eric; one sister, Nancy L. Myers; one brother, Roger V. Myers; five grandchildren, Heather Will and her husband, Scott Beman, S. Preston Will, Rachel, Samuel and Katherine Jorgensen; one great grandchild, Aiden S. Beman, and special friends, John and Dottie Clatterbuck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Utz Myers; two brothers, Earl Myers and Pete Myers, and two sisters, Fannie Mae Knight and Doris Hitt.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery (New) with Pastor Randy Orndorff officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the National Parkinson Found-ation, Inc., Office of Develop-ment, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136-1494 and/or Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1254, Culpeper, VA 22701.
