It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Edward Newberry, Jr., of Lizella, Georgia, who departed this life on July 12, 2025, at the age of 62.
Charles was a man who embraced life with a spirit of adventure and joy. He loved to travel, meet new people, and share laughter wherever he went. His vibrant personality, genuine warmth, and sense of fun made an impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He lived life to the fullest—never missing an opportunity to explore new places, connect with others, and enjoy every moment. His presence lit up every room, and his memory will continue to brighten the lives of all who loved him.
Charles will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched along the way.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Newberry, Sr. of Lizella, Georgia; paternal grandparents, Nelson and Dot Newberry of Lizella, Georgia; and maternal grandmother, Francis Lee of Macon, Georgia.
His memory will forever be treasured by his partner, Joan Sizemore of Eatonton, Georgia; mother, Linda Newberry of Macon, Georgia; sisters, Michelle Liebergesell (Mike) of Roswell, Georgia and Ellen Newberry of Eatonton, Georgia; and uncle, Stewart Newberry (Patsey) of Montezuma, Georgia.
A memorial for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Lizella, Georgia. A memorial service, officiated by Reverend Benjamin Newberry, will be held immediately following at 4:00 p.m. Charles will be laid to rest privately.
