Charles A. Paul

Muncie – Charles A. Paul, 90, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at his residence.

He was born in Muncie on April 1, 1935, the son of John and Hildreth (Cross) Paul and attended school in Muncie, Phoenix and Greentown, Arizona, along with Los Angeles California.

Chuck was proud to serve in The United States Navy during the Korean War for four years and another ten years in the Navy Reserves.

While in Phoenix his father worked for Del Webb, owner of the New York Yankees. Chuck was only fifteen when Mr. Webb offered him $5,000 per year to pitch for the Yankees.

He completed his GED while in the Navy and attended the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA. He was ordained in ministry at Chapel of the Way Church in Desert Hot Springs, CA and Universal Life Church in Modesto, CA. Chuck is a member of the Church of Religious Science, Idylwood, CA and attends High Street United Methodist Church.

Chuck was an avid bowler and golfer until he was seriously hurt in 2011. He entered many tournaments and travelled with the Moose League all over including as far as Corpus Christi, Texas. He organized the Gaston Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Golf Tournament for over twenty years.

His memberships include Muncie Moose, Dunkirk Elks, Eagles, American Legion and Kiwanis. In California, he had been in Rotary, Toastmasters, Kiwanis and Elks. He was a former board member for twenty years, before becoming Harrison Township Trustee. Chuck retired from Sears where he worked in large appliances.

Survivors include four sons, Rick Paul (Helen) of Columbus, Ohio, Charles Paul Jr. (Melinda) of North Carolina, David Paul and Sean Paul, both of Muncie; step-sons, Darin Minnick (Tracy) of Englewood, OH and Dale Paul (Yvonne) of Palm Desert, CA; step-daughters, Cheryl Goodspeed (Scott) of Texas, Rene Houin (Mark) of Plymouth, Sherry Pena (John) of La Quinta, CA and Cindy Barlow of Palm Desert, CA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Surviving is "the love of his life", wife, Carolyn S. Minnick, whom he met in the breakroom at Sears and later married in Las Vegas on May 21, 1992. Together they enjoyed many friends, lots of dancing, cards and traveling together.

Chuck was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah and Vickie; a son, John Dane Paul; along with his parents.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Losantville.
