PAVIA
Charles R., age 86, passed on February 24, 2025-a resident of Yeadon, PA, formerly of South Philadelphia.
Charles lived in Yeadon for 63 years and ran a successful barber business, Charles and Carlo Hair Design. He was a pillar in his community, running many flea markets and charity golf events. He also worked with the Borough to beautify Church Lane and on many other projects.
Charles had many loyal customers who lasted generations. On his day off, Charles would visit the homebound and cut their hair, and the only payment required was a smile. His humor and infectious smile always made you feel welcome. He loved watching the Eagles and the Phillies, Sunday pasta and meatball dinners with his family, and his favorite dessert, Key Lime Pie, which he enjoyed every Father's Day. Charles's favorite song was "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, and he also enjoyed listening to Kenny Rodgers and Barry White.
Survived by his wife Josephine (nee Toscani), son Robert (Ann Marie), daughter Diane Benincasa (Anthony), loving grandson Christian Benincasa (Caroline), and great-grandchildren Julian Anthony and Adelide Maria Benincasa.
His legacy is defined by the love, support, strength, and courage he provided, and his memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
The interment will be private on March 4, 2025.
