Send Flowers & Gifts Attorney Charles E. Pealer, 85, formerly of Warren, died peacefully at home in Sevierville, Tenn. on Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born July 28, 1926 in Warren, the son of Attorney Orla L. and Virginia Frances (Wheeler) Pealer, and had lived his entire life in Trumbull County until moving to Tennessee in 1994. A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Kent State University, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Mr. Pealer served in the U.S. Army with the 10th Armored Division under General George Patton during World War II, and was awarded the Bronze and Silver Stars. He and his father practiced law together for many years at Pealer & Pealer, LPA in Warren. He was a member of First United Methodist Church; Southington American Legion Post 751; Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M.; Warren Council #58, F. & A.M.; Mahoning Chapter 16, F. & A. M.; Warren Commandery #39, Knights Templar; 10th Armored Division Veterans Association; Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge; and a life member of the Ohio State Bar Association. He played the baritone horn in the Cortland Community Band, the Knoxville Community Band, the Smoky Mountain Community Band, and several Tuba Christmas and church events. He had been a private pilot and a skilled woodworker. In retirement, he and Karen owned and operated a craft store in Tennessee, and Charlie built several baby cribs for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Karen (Flanigan) Pealer, whom he married July 26, 1975; three sons: Lee A. (Therese) of Westerville, Terry E. (Stephanie) of Cortland; and Christopher J. (April) Pealer of Monroe, La.; five grandchildren: Michelle (Matt) Yoder of Gahanna, Erica Darst of Columbus, Scott of Pickerington, Brian of Hedgesville, W. Va., and Charles Pealer of Monroe, La.; one expected grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his first wife, Stella D. (Laboni) Pealer, whom he married September 9, 1945 and who died December 17, 1974; and a sister, Ruth K. Ogden. Mr. Pealer's life will be celebrated with a service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow at Champion Township Cemetery.
