Charles Perrin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whiting's Funeral Home - Williamsburg on Mar. 12, 2026.
In God's word, everything has a season, and on Friday, February 27, 2026, God called our beloved, Charles "Charlie Red" Odell Perrin, to eternal rest at Riverside Regional Medical Center as his season came to pass. His life's journey began on February 28, 1954, in York County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Charles H. Jones and Joyce T. Perrin.

He received his formal education from the York County Public School System. He spent a brief time in Job Corps and later worked for Bon Secours Health Group at Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was employed for over a decade. He later worked for ServiceMaster Commercial Services for six years.

"Charlie Red", as he was affectionately called, was truly loved by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Joanne Clark; his paternal grandparents, James and Elsie Jones; his maternal grandparents, Robert E. Perrin, Sr. and Annie Lewis Perrin; his paternal aunt, Annie Harrod; his maternal aunts, Lillie Mae Pierce, Annie Spriggs, Sarah R. Lewis, Maggie Carter (Royal), Deloris Perrin, and Patricia "Pat" Dennis; his paternal uncle, The Rev. Dr. Wilbur Jones; and his maternal uncles, Robert E. Perrin, Jr., Charles Perrin, Harry Perrin, Theodis Perrin, Clarence Perrin, and Timothy Perrin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Sandra Perrin Miles and Kay Riddle; paternal aunts, Dorothy Walton, Elsie Williams (Otto), Eleanor Cook (Herman), and Ruth McKeller (Charles); maternal aunts, Elsie Chandler, Juanita Carter (John), and Vatrice Sessions; maternal uncle, Kenneth Perrin; his nieces, Chasity Perrin and Allison Clark (widow of the late Kendell Darnell Wilson); nephews, Alonza Leon Clark (Tishel) and Marcus Perrin; great-nieces, Kahmaya Marie Wilson, Alyssa Rebecca Wilson, and Jolyn Roxanne Wilson; his special sister/cousin, Joan Pierce Holloway; his best friend, Mark Holloway and Queenella Gray (George); his special friend; Norma Davis; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

A service to celebrate Charlie Red's life will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.
