Jodie Cortez Perrin, born and raised in Avondale and Bridge City, Louisiana and resident of the Northshore for the last ten years, passed away on February 25th, 2026.
Jodie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son, Edwin J. Cortez (Amber), her brother, Ricky Cortez (Dawn), and her sister, Susan Cortez (Ashley); Jodie loved her grandchildren dearly, including Edwin Cortez Jr., Myla Aromy, Brantley Vito, and McKenzie Vito; and she left many lasting memories as an aunt to Crystal Cortez, Alexcia Rodriguez, Kyleigh Rodriguez, Dayton Hunter, and Brendon Hunter
Jodie's life was filled with activities that brought her joy. She had a passion for camping, dancing, visiting the casino, and playing bingo. Most importantly, she cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Jodie was preceded in death by her spouse, Andrew "Doo" Perrin, her father, Edwin J. Cortez, her mother, Yvonne T. Cortez, her brother, David Cortez, and her nieces Ricki Lynn Cortez and Rachel Cortez.
A visitation will be held on February 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Lee Rd, Covington, LA 70435.
Jodie Cortez Perrin will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
