Charles Placito Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 14, 2026.
Placito, Charles A.

Ogden: Suddenly, Friday, February 13, 2026, at age 73. He is predeceased by his parents, August & Mary Ann Placito; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph & Ascenzia D'Ambrosia. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, JoAnne; children, Kara (Bryan) Coleman, Michael (Kelly) Placito, and Alyssa (David) Stevens; grandchildren, Mason and Claire Coleman, Leah, Charlie, and Emma Placito, Olivia and Isla Stevens; brother, Thomas (Faye) Placito; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerard D'Ambrosia and Jeanine & Tom Noto; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Charles Placito was, above all, a devoted family man whose greatest pride and joy were the people he loved. As a loving husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, and a caring brother, he offered steady guidance, warm encouragement, and a sense of humor that shaped generations. He valued the bonds of family deeply, sharing loyalty, laughter, and lifelong support. He especially loved watching his grandchildren pursue their unique talents in sports, dance, and the performing arts, cheering them on with pride at every game, recital, and performance.

Alongside his deep commitment to family, he built a successful career that reflected both innovation and dedication. Chuck contributed his talents to Eastman Kodak, ITT Corporation, and later as a consultant, where he was an integral part of the production of the James Webb Space Telescope. He earned the respect of colleagues through his expertise and integrity. During retirement, he spent many enjoyable days as a member and avid golfer at Deerfield Country Club. His life reflects a balance of hard work, loyalty, and deep, abiding love for the people who mattered to him most.

No prior visitation. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 3010 Chili Avenue, Chili. Inurnment, private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
