Charles Platt Jr. was born April 8,1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and as a child his family moved to El Paso, Texas where he attended school and graduated from El Paso high school.
He later joined the Army and while there received A Good Conduct Medal. He also became a operating room specialist\Surgeon's Assistant. He met his wife while both were in the Army and they soon settled in El Paso, Texas to raise a family. After the Army he went on to college at Texas Western\UTEP where he received his degree in Chemistry. After college he went to work for Asarco smelter where he retired from after 32 years. He later moved to Melbourne, Florida where he resided for the last 28 years.
He loved to play tennis, ride his bike and was also a brown belt in Karate.
He is survived by his son Charles Platt III, daughter Robin Platt Manchester.
Charles, was preceded in death by his spouse Nancy Platt, daughter Charlotte Platt, parents Charles and Ethel Platt, and his bother Jack Platt.
He will be laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday March 18, 2026 in a private ceremony.
