Charles J. Pointer Sr.

The family of Mr. Charles Jeffery Pointer, Sr. gratefully acknowledges all acts of sympathy shown during their time of bereavement. May God continue to bless each of you.
Mr. Charles Jeffery Pointer, Sr., age 69, departed this life early Tuesday morning, November 2, 2022, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He was born in Halifax County, VA July 27, 1953 to the late Paul and Mary Barksdale Pointer, but made his home in Semora, NC and was a member of the Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, VA.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Rosetta Ferrell; and three brothers: Kelly Pointer, Theodore Pointer and John Pointer.
He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmenia Womack Pointer of the home; children: Charles J. Pointer, Jr., also of the home, Michelle Pointer of Burlington, NC, Derrick Pointer (Tiffany) of Graham, NC and Lauren Pointer of Columbia, SC; two sisters: Olga Thorpe of Danville, VA and Vivian Logan of Richmond, VA; one brother, Clinton Pointer (Lorena) of Roxboro, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1:00pm at Cunningham and nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Galloway, Pastor of the Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, VA, officiating and providing the eulogy. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 5:00pm with the family present during the last hour from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Attendance at the service is limited to sixty individuals and guests are pre-determined by the family. Please check with the family before the day of the service to confirm that your name is on the guest list. Face masks are required.
