Charles Wayne Pollock, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, March 27, 2025, in his home surrounded by his wife and daughter. His funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on April 9, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Charles was born on October 20, 1939, in Hargill, Texas, to Robert and Valley (McDaniel) Pollock. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. On July 8, 1973, he married Jacquelyn S. Pazour in Corpus Christi, Texas.

A man of many talents, Charles worked as a self-employed Realtor and was also a skilled welder, belonging to Local 125 and 211 Plumbers and Steamfitters Unions. Chuck loved remodeling homes, vegetable gardening, cooking, and was very mechanically gifted.

Music was at the heart of Charles’ life. An excellent musician, he played lead and steel guitar and sang in several country bands, including the Tennessee River Band, Cowboy Church Worship Band, and Rugged Cross Band. He was a devoted Christian, accepting Jesus as his savior many years ago.

In his free time, Charles enjoyed simple pleasures—watching old westerns, square dancing, two-stepping, and spending time with family. A cheeseburger and an ice cream cone would make his day. He was a loyal, thoughtful husband, who wrote homemade cards and picked wildflowers for Jackie on special days.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Pollock; daughter, Julie Rae (Justin) Goepferd; brother, Eugene Pollock; and grandsons, Sam Goepferd, Theo Goepferd, and Gus Goepferd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, JoAnn Snipes; and brother, Riley McDaniel.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be established in Charles' name.
