Charles William Porter Jr.

Charles William Porter, Jr., 86 of Deckers Point died suddenly at his home, Friday, January 30, 2026. Born in Johnstown, November 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Charles William Porter, Sr. and Josephine (Rose) Porter. He was the widower of Shirley Jane (McCombs) Porter, who died December 17, 2020.

Over the years Charles worked at Giant Eagle and Wal-Mart, both in Indiana. He had also worked at Nichols Bread and was a former newspaper carrier for the Indiana Gazette.

He enjoyed baking, motorcycle riding, reading and talking with his friends and neighbors. He always liked helping others.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles William Greene.

He is remembered by his children: Ann Marie Snyder, Deckers Point; Rhonda Renee Greene and Terrance Jerome Greene, both of Ohio. Charles is also survived by three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and by his sister, Joanne.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4th at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory in Indiana, where his funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will occur at a later date at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
