DYER CHAPEL-Charles Edward Price was born on October 28, 1943 in Sparta, TN to Obie Clure and Mattie Ruth Jones Price.
Charles was a good son, a wonderful brother, an awesome friend, a loving husband, a dedicated father, a devoted grandfather, a humble role model, but most importantly Charles was dedicated to the Lord and to living a humble, honest life. He showed his love for Christ by showing unconditional love to everyone he met.
Charles is survived by the love of his life of fifty years, Thelma Wilson Price; one son, Corey Price and wife Nicole; one grandson, Collin and one granddaughter, Torey all of Sparta; brother, Earl (Kathy) Price of Sparta; sisters, Barbara Jean Steele of Cookeville, Wilma Campbell and Carolyn (Tom) McDowell all of Sparta. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Willie Steele and Fred Campbell; and a niece Audrey Michelle Steele. Charles’ pride and joy is his family.
Charles was employed by Thomas Industries for 41-1/2 years and retired in 2005.
Charles’ passions included singing, cars, his family, and babysitting his grandchildren. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church where he served as secretary and treasurer for forty years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand at church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, Thursday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Friday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Bros. Clayton Lee, Jr, Danny Bandy and Seth Price will officiate. Interment will follow in Saylors Cemetery in White County.
Our lives have been touched by Charles’ humility, honesty, love for people, and his dedication to his family. He will truly be missed. Today we celebrate Charles Price’s life. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
