Charles "Chuck" Edward Salzmann, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and stepfather passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 15, 1933 in Queens, NY, Chuck lived a life marked by faith, family, and love of country. A proud veteran of the US Army, he served his nation with honor and remained a life long patriot.

After his military service, Chuck enjoyed a long career at Citibank, where he was known for his sharp mind and dedication. He led the bank's Y2K implementation which executed bug free at the turn of the century.

Chuck was a brilliant tinkerer and handyman with accomplishments including building ham radios, TV repair, plumbing, carpentry, auto mechanics, and many others.

A Mets fan, Chuck was continually frustrated by his team-yet his optimism, patience, and humor through each season mirrored the way he approached life itself.

Chuck knew the steadfast love of his Heavenly Father. Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want," was a favorite scripture. In his last hours, Chuck recited and rested in the assurance that "goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Chuck's greatest joy came from his family. He loved sharing stories, laughter (he could tell a joke!), and wisdom. His countenance would light up as held the babies. And he kept the Hess company in business with many toy truck orders sent across the country.

His love was deep and steadfast, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Halina; children – Joy Davis (J.R.), Thomas Salzmann (Tomi), Barrett Salzmann (Kate), Charles E Salzmann, III (Audrey); 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings Alma Lang and Bob Salzmann; stepchildren Robert Bentkowski (Janet), Barbara Bentkowski (Ralph), and many friends and loved ones who will cherish his memory.

May he rest in peace, his life a lasting testament to the love of Christ, who called him out of darkness into His marvelous light.
