Charles J. Schimmel, 60, of Mill Creek, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2026 at his home.
He was born on September 29, 1965, in South Bend too Thomas and Marie (Kotaska) Schimmel.
Charles worked as a truck driver his whole life. He loved anything loud and fast, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Charles was a huge Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed building race cars. He was greatly loved and will be truly missed.
Surviving are his children, Nicholas (Audriana) Schimmel and Krystal Mattes; grandchildren, Breayden, Colton, Lillian and Niklaus; brothers Al and Tom Schimmel; Sisters, Trish and Dee; good friends, Scotty Morton, Bob D., Wayne Jimerson and Noah Wiltfong.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been chosen. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, (219) 362-3333, is caring for the arrangements.
