Charles Schulze Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chism Family Funeral Home - Vine Grove on Feb. 9, 2026.
Charles (Charlie) Robert Schulze age 80 of Radcliff, Kentucky past away in home on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Charlie proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Army as a Tactical Power Generation Specialist, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and his dedication to his service. After his retirement from the US Army Charlie went on to live out his dream as an over the road truck drive for several years driving coast to coast.

Through out his life Charlie enjoyed many hobbies and simple pleasures. He had a deep love for old vinyl records and passion he loved and happily shared with and passed on to his sons. He was a life long fan of the Peanuts characters and shows, with Snoopy holding a special place in his heart. Charlie had eye for classic cars and would point and tell you what car it was whenever one caught his eye on the road or in a backyard. Thus was a small joy for those with him for it brought a smiles to our faces. He loved traveling across the United States but Chicago was always home in his heart--where The Bears and The Cubs were a must-watch.

Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 year Shirley Catherine Schulze and his two eldest daughters Tina Marie Schulze and Sheila Rae Schulze.

He is survived by his loving wife Darlene Schulze, daughter Shannon Renee Erwin and her husband Michael; Scott Everett Schulze and his wife Jennifer; Charles Robert Schulze Jr and his wife Donna; stepdaughter Katherine Shipley; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a large circle of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
