Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Crematory - St. Petersburg on Mar. 6, 2026.
Charles Rudolph "Rudy/Chuck" Smith II, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Safety Harbor, Florida. Born on October 8, 1953, in Tampa, Florida, he lived a full life rooted in his love for family and working hard in his community.

Rudy was the beloved son of the late Charles Sr. and Dorothy Louise Smith. A graduate of the class of 1971 from Hillsborough High School. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served his country with honor and dedication. After completing his service, he pursued a career as a business owner in the St. Petersburg area. For over 20 years, he successfully owned and operated a distribution business that became a cornerstone of his professional life.

He had a wide array of interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed golfing, running, and boxing either as a participant or an admirer. His musical talent was shone through his trumpet playing -and in his later years music brought him great comfort. He also had a fondness for dogs and gave a good home to many through out the years.

Above all else, Rudy cherished his family. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 30 years, Roblyn Smith, whose memory he held dear throughout his life. He is survived by his daughter Megan (Kyle) Elliman and two grandchildren, Noah and Amelia. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings John Smith, Brian (Elena) Smith, and Deborah (Bob) Sprague.

May those who mourn him find comfort in remembering the joy he brought into their lives. A Memorial Service will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery 5750 49th St N., St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
