Charles Speicker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home & Crematory - Treasure Coast Chapel on Mar. 13, 2026.
Charles "Charlie" Carl Speicker Jr., 72, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Charlie was born on August 5, 1953, in Asbury Park, New Jersey. At the age of two, his family moved to Sweetwater, Florida. Music was a big part of his childhood. His parents had a small band, and Charlie learned to play guitar, eventually joining them along with his sister, Linda. They often performed at the Bilmar Lounge in Sweetwater, creating memories that would stay with him for a lifetime.

In early 1973, Charlie joined the United States Army. During his service, he was stationed in Germany, Colorado, Hawaii, and Kansas. After proudly serving his country for ten years, he became a civilian in 1983.

Later that year, Charlie began a long career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked until his retirement in 2015.

Charlie met the love of his life, Janet, in late 1973, and the two married in 1974. Together, they built a life centered around family.

He loved spending time fishing with his sons and camping in the Florida Keys during mini lobster season. Charlie also enjoyed attending car shows with his Camaro for many years but eventually bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Riding quickly became one of his greatest passions. He was also a proud and active member of American Legion Post 62.

Charlie had a gift for teaching life lessons, not only to his own children but to many people who came into his life along the way. Later in life, he learned to make stone crab crackers, which he sold online and to various fish markets, including his son's market in Cudjoe Key. He even taught his daughter how to make them, and they spent many days side by side working together, often busting a few knuckles along the way.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Woodson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Speicker; his sons, Cory (Tina) Speicker of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Scott (Kirsten) Speicker of Cudjoe Key, Florida; his daughter, Christie (Matt) Zutter of Fort Pierce, Florida; and stepdaughter, Denise (Sam) Romans of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He is also survived by his ten grandchildren - Dusty, Breanna, Caitlyn, Lance, Delaney, Morgen, Dani, Axl, Koa, Makana and three great-grandchildren - Easton, Wyatt, and Melanie. He is further survived by his sister, Diane Harris, along with many extended family members and countless friends who became like family.

Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on March 29, 2026 @ 3pm at the American Legion Post 62, 2000 SE Fischer Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
