Charles Springsteen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville on Jul. 30, 2025.
Charles E. "Chuck" "Poppy" Springsteen, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife of 65 years, Sarah, and their family. Chuck was born in 1940 in Keyport, NJ, to Edward and Edna Springsteen. At a young age, his family relocated to Bay Head, where he attended Bay Head Elementary School and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1959. Soon after, Chuck proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During that time, he married the love of his life, Sarah Dickson, in 1960. While stationed in Arlington, VA, Chuck and Sarah welcomed two of their three children, Todd and Robin, born at Bethesda Naval Hospital. After completing his military service, Chuck returned to Bay Head, where their third child, Scott, was born. He joined the Bay Head Police Department and served his community with integrity and dedication for 25 years. Upon retirement, Chuck and Sarah moved to a 60-acre homestead in Bath, NH. A skilled carpenter like his father before him, Chuck built a beautiful home in Bath, NH, where they created a lifetime of memories. He cherished time spent with visiting grandchildren, sharing the beauty and simplicity of mountain life-Chuck and Sarah's dream come true. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah, and their three children: Todd and his wife Patricia of Bay Head; Robin and her husband Thomas Moran of Point Pleasant; and Scott of Bath, NH. He is also survived by seven grandchildren-Caitlyn, Loren, Erin (Kyle), Ian, Dylan (Lindsey), Noah, and Molly-and two great-grandchildren, Sunny and Olin. Also surviving are his niece, Dawn Springsteen; great-nephew, Justin Springsteen; and many close friends. He leaves behind his devoted canine companion of 10 years, Ruby. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Edna Springsteen of Point Pleasant, and his brother, Edward Springsteen of Bay Head. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Chuck's memory to the New Hampshire Humane Society, 1305 Meredith Center Rd, Laconia, NH 04346.
