Charles Stewart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright & Salmon Mortuary - Peoria on Dec. 3, 2025.
Charles E Stewart Jr., 93, passed away on December 2, 2025, at his daughter's home.
"Chuck" was born December 17, 1931, in Widner, Arkansas to Charlie and Emma (Marcy) Stewart. He married Jacquelyn Voltz on September 18, 1954. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Robert, his parents, two sisters, Gladys and Pat, and two brothers, Paul and Richard. Surviving is his sister Ellen Ball of Elgin, IL and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his son David of Rhinelander, WI, daughter Deborah (Stewart) Russell of Washington, IL, four grandsons, Nicolas, Nathan, Daniel and Derek and their loving partners and seven perfect great grandchildren. He gloried in the chaos they all created in his life.
Chuck served in the Army, in Germany, during the Korean War for 2 years, 6 months and 15 days.
He made his career at Illinois Bell Telephone and upon retirement he worked as a consultant in Central America. He subsequently traveled back and forth for 25+ years until settling back home in 2020. During his time away, he found a place where he was able to bestow his time, talents and treasure to people he grew to love.
A private family military service will be held at Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Debbie, and family, the deepest apologies for the loss of Mr. Chuck. He's a great man, and always was in a happy mood anytime I saw him. Contagious smile. I'm thankful I was able to provide help for him while we both were at Charter.
