Katherine S. Bartley

Katherine S. Bartley, 76, of Red Hook in St. Thomas USVI, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at her home.
Katherine was born September 17, 1948, in Peoria, IL the daughter of Rosemary (Feil) and Jospeh F. Bartley, Jr. She married Neil L. Lewis on December 1, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Joseph F. Bartley III and David G. Bartley, her sister-in-law Lisa L. Bartley and one nephew Thomas S. Bartley.
Surviving are her siblings Michael F. (Mary Lou) Bartley of Peoria, IL, Stephen P. Bartley of Franklin, TN and Julie M. (Kyle) Davidson of Simpsonville, SC, plus many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Neil's daughters Brett C. (Chris) Harrington of Auckland, New Zealand and Janine N. Lewis of Brooklyn, NY.
Katherine graduated from the Academy of our Lady in Peoria, St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN and completed her MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Katherine worked for CBS in various capacities at the Chicago affiliate and the corporate headquarters in New York. She later worked with her husband in the charter business, first hosting day cruises on the wooden schooner, Alexander Hamilton, in St. Thomas and later offering weeklong cruises on the Canal du Midi in southern France on their renovated canal barge Berendina. She loved to travel and explore all the world's beauty.
A Celebration of Life was held on September 24 in St. Thomas with her close-knit community. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria, IL at 10:30 on December 6, 2025, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Father Luke Spannagel will officiate and graveside committal services will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Generator Replacement Fund at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, P.O. Box 304983, St. Thomas, VI 00803.
