Mary Angela Irrera, 94, of East Peoria, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born July 14, 1931 in Peoria to Angelo and Margaret Mary Garino Venzon. She married Nicolo Irrera on June 4, 1960 in Peoria; he survives.
She was the loving mother of three children, Joan Marie Coleman of Jacksonville, FL, Dominic (Carolyn) Irrerea of Germantown Hills, and Barbara Ann (Curt) Crippen of East Peoria. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Austin Coleman; Michael and Daniel Irrera; and Colin, Paige, and Brock Crippen; as well as a great-grandmother to Revan Irrera, Elena Schauer, and Kennedy Crippen.
She loved attending many school and sports activities they were each involved in. She had a strong connection to her in-laws and extended family, all too many to name, but all dearly loved.
She is survived by her four brothers, Jim of California, Joseph of Tennessee, Michael of Wheaton, IL, and Stephen of Texas, and one sister, Barbara Kenny of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Louis, and John.
Mary was a 1949 graduated of the Academy of Our Lady and then joined her father and brothers in the family business at Venzon Heating and Air Conditioning. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, where she was Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister for several years.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am Saturday, October 18, 2025 at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria, Father John Steffen officiating. Her body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Inurnment will take place in the future.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica's Food Pantry.
