Charles Craig Stodghill, 73, born February 9, 1952 passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2025 after a hard fought but short battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Harper Lynn Borth, his father, James Mansfield Stodghill and his brother, Jan Ellis Stodghill.
He is survived by his wife, Robbin Hughes Stodghill, sons, Robert Stodghill (Stephanie), James Stodghill (Renee), his daughter, Sarah Borth (Brian), five grandchildren, Abigail, Isabel, Kaden, Brianna, and Harlyn, his mother, Nancy French, his brother, Allen Stodghill (Claudia) of Tallahassee, his sister, Shannon Bastin (Sam) of Danville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Shelby County High School, class of 1970, Craig spent 47 years working for KU and contracting for LG&E. He was a man who gave back to his community, serving those around him. He spent many years as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 153 in Ballardsville and Troop 650 in LaGrange.
Heading up many adventures during his time, including five trips so Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, trips to Northern Boundary Waters and the Florida Keys. He was a staff member for the National Jamboree twice.
Craig gave many years as the Chairman of the Fire Board and is a lifetime member of the LaGrange Fire and Rescue Department. Dedication to his community also lead him to serving as President of the LaGrange Kiwanis Club two times.
A long of antique tractors lead to a lifetime membership to the Tri State Antiques Gas Engine Association, a hobby that he shared with his grandson, Kaden making sure that the love of John Deere green continued.
He spent his later years running the family farm, raising cattle and farming the fields in his way. He was a dedicated family man that loved his family and his farm.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Stand Up to Cancer or the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
