FREMONT - Charles E. "Chuck" Swager Jr., 93, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola, Indiana.
Chuck was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Angola, Indiana, to Charles Swager Sr., and Maude (Deller) Swager.
Chuck was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He was proud to serve his country.
Chuck was a dairy farmer for many years in the Fremont area. He owned his own building construction business, operated heavy equipment and worked for both the toll road and the Indiana State Highway.
Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, with a quick wit and a ready smile.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his son, Ricky (Nancy) Swager, of Fremont; and his daughter, Susan Fox, of Wolcottville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Laura (Paul) Haan, Lisa (Ken) Martin, Carla (Erik) Schaeffer and Lindsay (Joe) Yanke; and 10 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brianna Dove, Hunter and Beau Yanke, Ella, Ava and Elliot Haan, Patrick and Gage Schaeffer and Emerson Martin.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Edith "Edi" Swager;, his parents; a grandson, Trenton Dove; two sisters, Marie Davis and Charlene Hablitzel; and two brothers, William and Terry Swager.
Honoring Chuck's final wishes, there will be no services.
