Charles Thomas Brigman, 1959 - 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Thomas Brigman, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Charles departed this world on December 24, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church by the Honorable Rep. Pastor Richie Yow with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Charles was born on December 9, 1959 to Millard and Lucile Brigman. His childhood in Chesterfield, S.C., laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family, faith, and community service.
Charles was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Cindi C. Brigman, and a proud father to his children, Byron C. Brigman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Caroline C. Brigman of Columbia, S.C. His family meant the world to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Professionally, Charles dedicated over 25 years of his life to Schaeffler Group, where he served as a Production Leader over T127 Segment 12HK. His commitment and leadership were evident throughout his career, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends.
Beyond the workplace, Charles lived life to the fullest, embracing a myriad of hobbies that brought him joy and connected him with others. Whether he was enjoying recreational boating, cruising with his Harley Davidson biker buddies, playing golf, or engaging in his latest and most beloved hobby, crappie fishing; Charles found fulfillment in the company of friends and family.
A pillar of his community, Charles served as a school board member for Faith Christian Academy while his children attended and held the esteemed role of Deacon at Hopewell Baptist Church. His dedication to Hopewell extended back to his younger years, where he served as Vacation Bible School Director, RA Leader, and Youth Leader. Charles's impact reached beyond the church as he pursued higher education later in life, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Coker University. During his time at Coker, Charles served on the Adult Education Student Government Committee where he actively promoted the importance of education for adults.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Lucile Brigman, and a brother, James Brigman; and brother-in-law, Barney Abernathy. He leaves behind a family that will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Cindi C. Brigman; children, Byron C. Brigman and Caroline C. Brigman; sister, Linda Abernathy; brothers, David (Jeannie) Brigman, Robert (Delores) Brigman of Chesterfield, S.C. and John (Susan) Brigman of Owasso, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Joni Brigman of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews; and a very special aunt, Marie W. Seals of Cheraw, S.C.
In celebrating Charles's life, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him, the kindness he extended to others, and the lasting impact he made on the community he served. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
