Charles Edward, son of Lee Wesley Thomas, Sr., and Georgia Anna Dyson Thomas, began his earthly journey on Saturday, June 1, 1957 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. His granddaughter, Carlesa Leyna Taylor, parents and sister, Jean Warfield preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Word of Life Ministries.
Charles received his education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1975. He enjoyed membership as a 3rd Degree Master Mason with Warfield Lodge #44, Clarksville, Tennessee.
Affectionately known as “Tanky” by his immediate family and “ChiliBean” to friends, he enjoyed spending time with them all. He was close to his sister and often referred to her as “mama”. He was very loving and kind and would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed tinkering with things and was literally a “jack of all trades”. He loved to dance, help others and just hang out with family and friends. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Charles’ earthly journey ended peacefully as he entered into the Master’s joy.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished and shared by his daughters: Nanika Thomas and ShaQuita (Darius) Jones, all of Clarksville, TN; son: Robert (Roberta) Taylor, Detroit, MI; grandson, Darius “DJ” Jones, Jr.; sister, Beatrice (Jeffery) Farmer, Clarksville, TN; brother, Lee Wesley Thomas, Jr., Newport News, VA; nieces: Sheketa Armstrong and Kym Thomas; nephews: Anthony Farmer and Lucas Thomas, other relatives and friends.
