Mary Alice began her earthly journey on Tuesday, November 1, 1938, in Clarksville, Tennessee, the daughter of loving parents, James Moss and Ruth Dinkins. She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Grinstead; grandson, Marcus Grinstead; parents and sister, Dorothy Jean King and grandparents, Nettie Smith and Steve Smith.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
Mary Alice received her education in the Montgomery County School System where she attended and was a graduate of Historic Burt High School, Class of 1956. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed employment as a sales associate at Mr. Cool and Austin Peay State University.
She enjoyed “loving on” her children and grandchildren, cooking them delicious meals while listening to her favorite music. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smiling face.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Mary Alice answered God’s beckoning call to cease for her earthly labors and enter the Master’s joy.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her daughters: Kesia Grinstead, Tracy Grinstead, Shimeka “Shawn” (Terry) White; sons: Calvin Brown and Donald “Donnie” Brown, all of Clarksville, TN; 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Moss-Carr; aunts: Della Skinner and Sarah Yarbrough and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
