Obituary of Charles B. "Charlie" Thomason
Charles B. "Charlie" Thomason, age 82, passed away December 8, 2023, at his home from complications of Cancer and COPD. He was born June 23, 1941, in Cassity, WV, a son of Lenora Shockey Thomason of Buckhannon and the late Roy W. Thomason. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shelia Tenney Thomason of Buckhannon whom he married on October 15, 1965; one sister, Katherine "Katie" Howes of Buckhannon; nephews, Randall (Debbie) Howes and Edward (Carol) Howes all of Buckhannon and Martin (Karen) Thomason of Clarksburg; niece, Debra (Donnie) Bonner of Adrain, WV; sister-in-law, Betty Thomason of Clarksburg, WV and numerous great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Junior Thomason; one brother-in-law, Clyde Howes; father and mother-in-law, "Sherd" and "Short" Tenney and two very special little girls, "Misty Blue" and "TeKa Mist". Charlie was employed in the Oil and Gas Industry for 45 years, having retired in 2004. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 598 and Elks Lodge No. 1736 in Buckhannon. He enjoyed camping, country music, dancing, chatting with his neighbors, riding the golf cart through the neighborhood and most of all he was happiest when he could help someone. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther and Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Charlie's honor to the Upshur-Lewis Animal Shelter (318 Mud Lick Road, Buckhannon, WV, 26201) or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
