Charles Joel Turner

Charles Joel Turner, 75 of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away on December 31, 2025. 

Born on May 21, 1950 in Gaffney, SC, Joel was a son of the late Betty Lanier Turner and Charles Turner. 

Joel was a civil service machinist for 30 years at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and the US Coastguard in Miami, Florida. In his retirement, he was known as the neighborhood beekeeper. He was passionate and devoted to his family friends and neighbors. His hobbies included fishing, shag dancing and listening to county music. He was devoted husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend. 

Joel is survived by his wife, Julia Turner; 3 children and 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith in Goose Creek. 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at McAlister-Smith in Goose Creek. The burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC. 

Joel would not have wanted flowers or donations. What mattered most to him was being remembered with love, laughter, and fond memories.
