Charles Lee (Chuck) VanHyfte born March 6th, 1942, passed away September 11th, 2025, while in Hospice care.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Lucinda (Cindy), his parents Bernard (Bud) VanHyfte, Okah VanHyfte and brother Michael VanHyfte.

Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Attica High School where he participated in 4H, track and cross-country sports.

He was drafted into the Army in 1964 and continued with the US Army Reserves, retiring after 24 years of service to his country at the rank of Major.

He was married to Lucinda (Cindy) Cripe on June 21st, 1964, and were together until her passing on June 15th, 2010, only a few days shy of their 46th anniversary.

Surviving Chuck in death are his daughter Vicki (VanHyfte) Willis, (Doug Willis, husband), Grandchildren Zachary Willis, (Katelyn wife) and Jacob Willis, (Alyssa, wife) and great granddaughter Nora. Surviving to see his first great granddaughter was the highlight of his last year.

Also, a surviving son Brian VanHyfte (Kim, wife) grandchildren Dusty VanHyfte (Kurt, husband) and Brent VanHyfte (Leigh, wife). Brother Jim VanHyfte, (Dale, wife), and Sister-in-law Tanya VanHyfte.

Chuck enjoyed taking his grandchildren camping, fishing and enjoying short vacations to several different locations in Indiana and the Smokey Mountains.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to www.combatcookies.org, a local NFP sending fresh cookies and care packages to troops deployed overseas, or a local Veterans' group of choice.

Chuck will have a private service with family.
