Goodwin-Sievers Family Funeral Home - VincennesCharles Ben Vories, 94, better known as C.B. passed away at 2:07 am on December 7, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital with his sons by his side. C.B. was born on December 4, 1931, in French Lick, IN the son of Charles B. and Roberta (Hayes) Vories. He married Marjorie McCord on January 18, 1952, and she preceded him in death on January 21, 2016.
C.B. served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. C.B. worked for Prestolite for many years and retired as Maintenance Supervisor for the Knox County Courthouse. C.B. was a fifty-year member of the Monroe City Masonic Lodge #548 where he had been a past Master. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite where he had received the MSA and was actively involved in the Knox County Shrine where he had sponsored 3rd graders to attend the Shrine Circus for many years. Most importantly he enjoyed woodworking with his three sons.
Survivors include his sons, Maurice "Bud" Vories and his wife Susie of Vincennes, Dave Vories and his wife Pam of Monroe City, Mark Vories and his wife Brenda of Monroe City; five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and his brother Ron Vories of Monroe City. C.B. is preceded in death by his parents Charles B. and Roberta Vories, his siblings, Faye, Paul, Harvey and Mary Vories, and his grandson Justin Vories.
Friends may visit with C.B.'s family from 4-8 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025. C.B.'s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Pastor Dave Parman will officiate and C.B. will be laid to rest in Wildwood Cemetery. The Vories family request memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
