Charles Norman White, known affectionately as Norman to his loved ones, passed away peacefully at his home in Phenix City, Alabama, on September 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 12, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia, Norman was a man of exceptional character who lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an unforgettably warm sense of humor.

Norman's life was one of service and commitment, both to his country and his community. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he served with honor during the Vietnam era, a time that shaped much of his resilience and strength. After his military service, he channeled his hardworking spirit into establishing and managing the Norman White Plumbing Company, which became a respected business in the community due to his dedication and expertise.

Norman's life was not all work, however. He was a man with a deep love for the outdoors. Fishing and hunting were not just hobbies but passions that he pursued with the same vigor as he did all aspects of his life. His love for Auburn football was almost legendary; he hardly ever missed a game and enjoyed sharing this passion with his friends and family. Norman's fish stories, told with a twinkle in his eye and a hearty laugh, will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of hearing them.

At home, Norman was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 42 years, Katie Chadwick White. Their partnership was a testament to true love and mutual respect. He was also a cherished father to his daughter, Deborah Kay Ellison. His guidance and love shaped her life profoundly, and his legacy will live on through her. Norman's granddaughters, Veronica Jones and KC Lynn Ellison, brought tremendous joy to his life. He delighted in their accomplishments and was a constant source of wisdom and encouragement. Though he is now reunited with his predeceased family members-his father Ted Szutowicz, mother Evelyn Floyd Szutowicz, and brother Ted Szutowicz Jr.-Norman's absence will be deeply felt by his many friends and extended family. His larger-than-life presence, unwavering integrity, and the laughter he inspired are irreplaceable.

Norman will be laid to rest at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, where a private family service will honor his memory and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many. His story is one of a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a life of genuine experience and adventure.
