Charles White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakes Funeral Home on Jan. 22, 2026.
Charles Leslie White, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 82, in the peaceful town of Berea, Kentucky. Born on January 9, 1944, in Fayette County, Kentucky, Charles lived a rich and fulfilling life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for his family and community.

Charles was the beloved husband of Carol Ann White, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of 60 years. Together, they created a tapestry of memories that will continue to provide comfort and inspiration to those who knew them. The son of the late John A. White and Martha Dale Linville White, Charles carried the legacy of his parents' kindness and resilience throughout his life. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Dale White and John A. White, whose memories remained close to his heart.

In his professional life, Charles's hardworking and innovative nature shone in his career at Columbia Gas of Kentucky, from which he retired after years of dedicated service. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his passion for agriculture, which was highlighted when he became a state FFA winner for raising a pig that birthed 18 piglets.

Beyond his professional contributions, Charles was a man of many interests. He attended Boones Creek Baptist Church where his faith and fellowship were integral parts of his life. His creative spirit found its outlet in the crafting of primitive furniture, a testament to his hands-on skills and his appreciation for the rustic beauty of bygone days.

Charles treasured the simple joys of life and the time spent with his family. His legacy is carried forward by his children, Charles Trenton White (Melissa) from Louisville, Ky and Tammy Marie White Cornett (Doug) from Tucson, Az. His love, guidance, and stories will continue to live on through his adoring grandchildren, Mallie AnnMarie Cornett and Dahlia V. White, who will always remember their grandfather with fondness and gratitude.

Charles's life was a narrative of love, service, and quiet strength. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we do so with a sense of peace, knowing that his exemplary life has left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.
