Charles Douglas Wilkie, better known as Pete, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1958, in Panama City, Panama

He is survived by his adoring daughters, Sarah Dawn Brown and her husband Stephen Lee Brown, and Jessica Lauren Johnson and her husband David Matthew Johnson. His legacy continues to shine brightly through his granddaughters, Makayla and Makenna Brown, and his grandson, Alexander Wilkie. Pete's brothers- Lee, Jim, and Shawn Wilkie- and their families. Along with Pete's chosen brothers, Conrad Trapp and Jimmy Dodd, and their families who loved him as their very own. Pete was blessed with countless friends-too many to name, but none forgotten.

Professionally, Pete was a dedicated linguist for the US Army. Following his military service, he worked for Reasors for many years before going back to school to be a Physical Therapy Assistant. He graduated at the top of his class and worked in physical therapy for 27 years. He once said he'd do it for 27 more if he could, reflecting the long standing devotion he had for his career. His work ethic and high standards for compassionate care were deeply appreciated by his colleagues and those he helped over the years.

Pete had a deep appreciation for the world around him. He found peace in fishing, joy in gardening, and wonder in the night sky-passions he shared with his children and grandchildren. He was a steadfast OU Sooners sports fan. He rarely missed a game and often planned his life around the Oklahoma Sooners Football and Softball Schedules.

A loving father, a cherished grandfather, a beloved brother, and a treasured friend-Pete was a man of wisdom, warmth, and generosity. His legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched.

Today, we remember Pete, a man who truly made the world a brighter place for so many.
