Charles Wolf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Funeral Home - Andover on May 18, 2024.
Charles Dwane Wolf, 81, of Coffeyville, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, with his daughter by his side. He was born on November 18, 1942 in Wichita to the late Orville and Vinita Wolf.
Charles, who went by Dwane, had a lifelong passion for race cars and boat racing, hobbies that brought him immense joy. Dwane was not only an avid participant but also loved restoring classic race cars in his spare time, a craft he perfected over many years as a skilled welder. One of his proudest accomplishments was having one of his vintage cars in the Hall of Fame Auto Racing Museum in Belleville, KS.
Dwane graduated from high school and went on to have a very successful career as a pipe fitter welder with the Local 441 for 58 years. He worked in Colorado, Arizona, California, and Florida. After coming back to Kansas in 1991, he taught welding at the Local. He retired in January of 2002.
Dwane married Joyce Irene Palmer and became a father to Patty Jo in 1971, officially adopting her that same year. The two later divorced but their love for Patty remained the same. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Vinita Wolf.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Wesley and Patricia Jo Smith (Wolf) of Coffeyville; his grandchildren Jacob and wife Kayla Smith, Victoria and husband Tyler Russell (Smith), and Camille and husband Tyler Watts (Smith); his five great grandchildren Carson and Cali Smith, Avalynn and Jenson Watts, and Colin Russell, with one more on the way; his sister Joyce and husband Carl Oslin of Texas; another sister Donna and husband Stan Switzer of Florida; and brother Everett and wife Susan Wolf of Texas.
Graveside service will be held at Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
