Charles Lewis Woods

Charles Lewis Woods, age 96, of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away March 30, 2026, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 4, 1930, son of the late William and Leila Wilkerson Woods. Charles was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Charles was a lifelong farmer, who enjoyed playing Rook, walking and sitting on his porch greeting neighbors. He was a quiet, kind and patient man who loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patsy, his son Charlie Riley and siblings John, George, Alfred and Ivan Woods, Rachel Morris, Nancy Richards and Martha Johnson.

Charles is survived by his children: Frankie Osborne (Jane) of Hardinsburg, KY and Jeanie Burden (Paul) of Cloverport, KY

4 grandchildren: Tiffany Osborne, Dylan Osborne (Erin), Cascy Burden and Kevin Burden

Many nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3:30 - 8 PM and Thursday at the church, 9 - 11 AM. All times are central.
