Remembering The Life Of Charles L. Young

"To Everything There Is A Season"

"A Time To Be Born"

Charles L. Young was born on October 28, 1945, to the union of L. C. and Joseyline Young in Magee, Mississippi. Charles also had a younger sister from this union named Mildred Young.

A few years later in life, L. C. Young remarried Virgie Young, and to this

union three children were born: Clifton, Willie, and Dennis.

Charles relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, at the tender age of 9. Charles attended and graduated from the Cleveland Public School System.

"A Time To Love"

Charles met and fell head over heels in love with Darlene Hughes in 1961. He waited patiently and married Darlene in 1966. To this union, two children were born, Veronica and Charles Jr.

"A Time To Live"

Charles worked 15 years as a construction worker, Dinnerbell Meats for 10

½ years. He retired from Stouffer's after 10 ½ years of faithful service in 2009. Charles joined a club organization called Arabian Knights back in 1973. He was an adamant sports lover. Charles was an umpire for over 25 years for softball, hardball, and he umpired for flag football.

Charles bowled and played softball for numerous teams over the years.

Charles was a die-hard fan of all of Cleveland's Sports Teams.

Charles and Darlene belonged to a small group of close friends, and the name of the group is called The Fabulous Six. They had great outings and fabulous trips together. Out of the Fabulous Six, 2 of the men, Johnnie and Leonard, preceded him in death, and now there are the Fabulous Three, which are all of the wives of the three men, and they are still good friends.

"A Time To Die"

Charles departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Darlene, and his 2 children, Veronica

Young-Lamar (Thomas) and Charles Young Jr., both of Garfield Heights, Ohio. His 2 brothers, Willie (Lore) and Dennis (Shunda). 4 grandchildren, Sheree, Kyle, J'Ovani, and Zaria. 1 great-granddaughter, Sarai, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Joseyline, L. C., and Virgie Young, his brother Clifton Young, and his sister Mildred Rivers.
