Charles Zaperach, 91, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Celebration Villa in Chippewa. Born in Moundsville, West Virginia, Charles' parents moved to Beaver County, Pennsylvania, when he was just six years old where he grew up and attended Monaca schools.
A son of the late Paul and Anna (Smerekanich) Zaperach, Charles was one of ten siblings. He was predeceased by his six brothers: John, Andrew, Anthony, Frank, Peter, and Paul Zaperach; and his three sisters: Mary Bickerton, Mildred Slie, and Julia Zoppelt. He is survived by his son, David Zaperach of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Charles proudly served his country as a U.S. Army peacetime veteran. His dedication to his work was evident in the many years he spent at Precision Kidd Steel in West Aliquippa, from where he retired after a long and fulfilling career at their Clinton plant.
Known as Charlie to his friends and family, he was a man of many interests. He made his home on Brodhead Road in Center Township, where his passion for gardening was evident. An avid fisherman, Charles found joy and tranquility of the calm lake waters and the silent patience required to make a catch.
His love for sports was another defining aspect of his life. Football and baseball games were sources of great excitement for him, and he relished the opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams alongside friends and fellow fans as a member of the Monaca Turners.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov 24th from 1 pm until the time of service at 3 pm at the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
