Patricia L. Smith, aged 71, a long-time resident of Ohioville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Born on June 2, 1954, in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Ruth R. (Cujas) McGovern.
Patty's life was marked by her loving devotion to her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Robert D. Smith. She was a proud mother to her three sons, Robert (Michelle) Smith of McCandless Twp., Brandon (Heather) Smith of Brighton Twp, and William (Elayne) Smith in England. Patricia's joy was multiplied by her nine grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
In addition to her mother, Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalie McGovern, her two brothers, George Jr. and James Parasida, and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Parasida. Patricia was a loving sister to Sandra (Pete) Cargill of Houston, TX, and Kathleen Pennington of Monaca, and a sister-in-law to Debbie Parasida.
A graduate of New Brighton High School in 1972, she served as a rural mail carrier for the Midland U.S. Post Office for 30 years, becoming a familiar and friendly face to many. After her long-standing service, she continued her career at Macy's for five years and later in the jewelry department of Kohl's for eight years.
Patricia's interests were as varied as they were joyful. She had an adventurous spirit, enjoyed travelling, and loved trying her luck with scratch-off tickets, always hopeful for that big win.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Nov 23rd from 10 am until noon at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVIES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Private interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Industry.
The family has suggested to those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Patty's memory to please consider the Beaver County Humane Society.
