Mr. Donald Lee Smith of Eldon, MO passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Caring Hearts and Hands of Columbia, MO. He was born on July 3, 1938 in Newburg, MO to William Charles and Anna Mae (Wagner) Smith. He had reached the age of 87.

Don was the 5th of 12 children, 9 boys and 3 girls. Don was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Smith, 6 brothers, Bob, Jr., Gerald, Carl, Virgil, and Larry, 3 sisters, Fern and 2 twin sisters at birth. Also, his son Jeff Smith and granddaughter Danielle Johnson-Burrow.

He is survived by his loving girlfriend Rena of Eldon, MO, son Mark T. Smith of Hawk Point, MO and daughter Janine Smith of Eldon, MO. His 2 brothers Joe Smith of Elkhart, IN and Dearl Smith (Carol) of Warrenton, MO, his honorary granddaughter Stacey Johnson Hood, his grandchildren, Benjamin (Kayla, Chelsea, Steve, Valerie, Tyler and Matthew. Many nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Margie Smith, and many extended relatives and friends.

Don loved his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren all his nieces and nephews very much. Don owned and operated many businesses in his lifetime and was a friend to All and always lent a helping hand, wanting nothing in return. Don had the Diamond Bar in Hawk Point, MO; along with Smith's Automotive and Body Shop and a mobile home park. He was even employed as a truck driver during his working years. He loved to play his guitar and sing in his younger years.

Don faced many hardships through his life but he always endured them all with strength, courage, love and faith.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in his name are suggested to the Caring Hearts and Hands of Columbia, MO. 1307 W. Broadway Columbia, MO 65203

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated and services will be planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
