On August 10, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most, Charley Ross Dutton Jr. left this world at the age of 90, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, hard work, and love.

Charley was born on November 27, 1934, in Moberly, Missouri to Esther and Charley Dutton Sr. He grew up alongside his twin brother, five younger brothers and one younger sister. Together, Charley and his siblings learned early the value of family, and lending a hand whenever it was needed.

In 1955, Charley answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army and training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He later continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserves. The discipline, dedication, and quiet sense of duty he carried from his military years would become defining traits throughout his life.

After his Military Service, Charley spent a short time at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft before beginning what would become a 40-year career as a foreman at Toastmaster, Inc. His strong work ethic was unmatched.

When retirement came in 2001, Charley didn't slow down. He simply traded timecards for fishing rods, camping gear, and yard tools. He loved being outdoors, whether it was a weekend camping trip, an early morning at the lake, or simply keeping his property in perfect order. But his greatest joy was always found in the company of his family and friends.

Charley will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and the way he showed love. Not with grand gestures, but in the steady, everyday ways that truly matter. He was the one you could count on, the one who showed up, the one who never stopped working for the people he cared about.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Charles (Rosemary) Dutton; his sons, Donald Keith Chirillo and Arnold Ray Chirillo; and his grandson, Steven Wayne Chirillo.

He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Darline Dutton; his brothers George (Diane) Dutton, Donald (Betty) Dutton, Robert (and the late Mary) Dutton, Gary Dutton, and William Dutton; his sister Elizabeth (and the late Homer) McCart; his children, Ronald (Yolanda) Chirillo, Pamela Mallory, and John Dutton; and his grandchildren Russell Chirillo, Dustan Chirillo, Andrea (Nick) Watson, Maranda (Chad) Charles, Miranda (Rian) White, Daniel Chirillo, Derek (Autum) Chirillo, Brandon Mallory, and Tyler Mallory. His extended family and countless friends will carry his memory forward with love.

Charley's was honored with graveside services and military honors at Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial followed.
