Charley was born on September 10, 1938, in Plant City, FL to Charley McDavid Tindle and Emma Lou Pate Tindle, both of whom preceded him in death. He retired as a truck driver for Roadway Express. He drove for Roadway Express for 34 years and was recognized for his safe driving for 30 years. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. Charley was a family man, who dearly loved his family! He was a jokester, as April Fool’s Day was one of his favorite days of the year. He was an avid deer hunter in his younger years, and he was a die hard “Gators” fan. He was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. Most of all, he was loved very much by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty S. Tindle of Brownsville, TN; one son, David Tindle (Sandra) of Brownsville, TN; one brother, William H. “Bill” Tindle (Ruthie) of Panama City, FL; one sister, Emma Jean Sanders of Palm Harbor, FL; four grandchildren, Tyler James Tindle, Amanda Paige Tindle, Kayla Smith (Tiffany) and Anna Camille Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charley Wayne Tindle, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Scott Sanders.
Pallbearers for the service will be Chuckie Mize, Chandler LaFrain, Scott Simmons, Pat Hughes, Glen Claburn, and Alvin Ray Paris, III. Honorary Pallbearer will be Matthew Blaylock.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
