Charlie Curry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. - Stuart on Dec. 20, 2025.
Charlie was born to the late Charlie West Curry, also known as C.W., and the late Carrie Bell White-Curry in Louisville, Alabama. He received his early education in the Barbour County School System and learned the values of hard work, respect, and family that would shape his life.

In 1953, Charlie relocated to Miami, Florida, where he built his life and planted deep roots in the community. He was united in marriage to Peggy Curry; though later divorced, they shared many meaningful years together.

He was a dedicated concrete finisher and spent his career working in construction until his well-earned retirement. He later started his own lawn service, offering meticulous care and dependable service to friends, neighbors, and customers. Charlie enjoyed helping others however he could, often giving of his time quietly and without fanfare.

Among his favorite pastimes were watching football and trying his luck with the lotto-small pleasures that brought him joy and laughter. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, humble spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Charlie was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jean Peterson and Minnie Jewel Curry. He leaves to cherish his loving memory one devoted brother, Ivory Curry Sr.; two nieces, Cheylenne Haynes, (Shadrick) and Anita Latson; four nephews, Alexander Curry (Damita), Keith Edwards (Sharon), Dwayne Edwards( Lisa), and Michael Curry(Andrea); along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

Though Charlie had no children of his own, he touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, simplicity, and love. As we celebrate his life, we give thanks for the years God allowed him to walk among us and for the precious memories that will remain in our hearts always.
