Donald Ray Curry, 88, of Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio. Born September 30, 1937, in Omar, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary (Wooten) Curry. A proud 40 year United States Navy Veteran, he was employed for many years as a Foreman with the State Highway Department of Massachusetts before retirement.
He was a member of Gallipolis American Legion Post #27, a member of the DAV, and a member of Poplar Ridge Free Will Baptist Church.
Donald is survived by his children, Thomas J. (Stella) Curry, North Reading, Massachusetts and Sharon (Phillip Cacciatore) Donato, Somerville, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Paul Thomas (Nicole) Donato, Amanda Elizabeth Donato, Sarah Rose (Matt) Lightbody, Rebecca Curry and great-grandson, Paul Whitney Donato.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by wives, Claire and Barbara Curry, sons, Michael and Steven Curry, sisters, Margie Curry, Ada Adkins, Roda Knox, Hester Brooks, Eilene Ferrell , Stella Brown and Juanita Hamilton as well as brothers, Earl, Levi, Leonard, Leslie, Charles and Oakley Curry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. Burial with Full Military Graveside Rites by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail will follow in Poplar Ridge Church Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Family members and friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, 11:00 AM to the Noon service time.
