David Michael Skidmore, 75, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, died Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in his home following a lengthy illness. David was born July 8, 1950, in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Okey and Naomi (Brabham) Skidmore Roush. He was employed for more than forty-six years by Federal Mogul/Borg Warner/GKN Manufacturing. An avid sports fan, he was a huge supporter of Gallia Academy High School and Gallia County youth sports where he dedicated many years coaching football, basketball and baseball.
David married Cathy Norman Skidmore March 18, 2005, in Sevierville, Tennessee, who survives with son, Robby (fiancé Amanda) Skidmore, South Webster, Ohio and grandchildren, Logan (Cassie) Few and Tanner (Brett Sisson) Few, both of Gallipolis; Colton (Anna) Skidmore, Oxford, Mississippi and Brianna Miller, Leon, West Virginia; stepsons, Brian (Amy) Miller, Leon, West Virginia and Eric Miller, Danville, Virginia as well as brother, Harold Skidmore, Bidwell, Ohio and son-in-law, Travis Few, Gallipolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by wife and mother of his children, Rosemary Skidmore, daughter, Shelly Few and brother, Paul Skidmore.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, is honored to serve the Skidmore Family during this time of need.
