Ms. Henrietta Curry, age 75, of Thurmond, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Ms. Curry was born on July 2, 1950, in Traphill to Girtha and Wessie Lyons Curry. She found magic in the melodies of Elvis and the stories on her television screen, but her greatest gift was her sense of wonder and fun. She possessed a laugh so pure and joyful that it was impossible to resist. It was the hallmark of her personality- a bright, ringing reminder to everyone she loved that life was meant to be enjoyed to the fullest.
Ms. Curry was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joe Curry, sister, Brenda Sue Curry, and sisters-in-law, Judy Curry and Vickie Curry.
Survivors include: brothers, Butch Curry and wife Bonnie of Elkin, and Donald Curry and wife Anne of Thurmond; a sister, Kattie Turley; and several loving nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Lucas Baker and Rev. Dennis Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Benham Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at Elkin Funeral Service.
Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina, 3540 Crain Hwy Ste 675, Bowie, MD 20716.
The family would like to thank Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking care of Henrietta in her time of need and the staff of Elkin Funeral Service.
